It's more or less impossible to predict when a solar micronova will occur, and that's assuming that it's even possible (I'm far from convinced by Ben Davidson's evidence, though I don't rule it out). Same applies to the less dramatic, but still very destructive superflare events - and in that case, we have reasonably good evidence from astronomy that solar twins do in fact exhibit superflares (as in, events more energetic than the Carrington event), as well as some archeological evidence that the Sun has done such in the past. A Carrington or super-Carrington event would take down the global electrical grid, which is really all you need to bring down the global system.
Another candidate for cosmic black swan is cometary impact. We know from the Younger Dryas that these have played a big role in human history over the last 10,000 years or so, and there's also evidence in the Bible for that (Sodom & Gomorrah). A YD type impact would also take down the global system.
Problem is, all of these are impossible to predict. No man knows the day or the hour, as the saying goes. On the other hand, cosmic intervention may well be the only thing that can stop the WEFites from completing their prison grid and converting humanity into a transhuman slave race.
Here's a thought : The "elitists" are well aware of the catastrophe cycle, via a litany of "secret" wisdom embedded more-or-less obviously in practical and philosophical sources produced along our millennial path. Weld this idea to the abundance of hard physical evidence that our world -- and all that lives upon it -- have likely witnessed a cornucopia of cataclysmic natural forces, often recorded in legend, myth and petroglyph. One would assume by the survivors. Perhaps hardened materialists like Bezos and Musk are thinking they'll engineer their way out of trouble, riding out whatever's coming in their underground redoubts and mountaintop cavern fortresses. Honestly, this is all starting to feel like the sort of thing the Blofeld Set would really be down for : repopulating a post-cataclysmic world "in their image". This scenario is certainly more plausible than what's foisted on the consensus mind as an "official" versions of what passes for history, archaeology, etc.
Winston, I found this a welcome interlude from the covidian nightmare and for those of us in Australia, from the endless upcoming Federal election drivel from the two major parties. What do I think? Is it time to start subscribing to those prepper sites and building a bomb shelter? - perhaps. Perhaps many like myself who long to return to a simpler life will welcome such a disaster, at least at first. I strongly suspect that the reality of living that dream will be rather more disappointing though and find it's more of a nightmare. Although I have heard of Gog and Magog, I know little and take little interest, unlike the author (Dad puns in there). Although I am not a Christian of the 'Rapture' believing variety (the belief that Jesus will remove all the believers prior to the Tribulation period of Revelation) I find their attitude a little 'off' sometimes. Those I know of that persuasion usually seem to not care what may come as they won't be around, so it won't be their problem and they certainly don't need to make preparations. Where does this leave you and I then as I think we will all be left behind. I agree with Heiser that we just can't tell exactly where or when or what from the Bible account. That's not its purpose, it's a theology book. Its purpose is to tell us about God and what we really need to do and build a Bomb Shelter doesn't get a mention. How we should live each day gets a lot of mention though. So I shall keep working on living each day as the Bible tells me to, I'll continue to work on my garden, as the commercial produce is nowhere as good, I'll keep away from injections that are neither safe nor effective and make what preparations I can for some kind of system crash. If God tells me to build an Ark or Shelter I'll do that as well. Until then, I wouldn't mind some more of these little explorations.
