New Zealand ought to escape the crisis, however the Ardern government dismantled our oil refinery plant - so while we still extract our our own oil we have no way to process it for the local population. It is being hidden how much fuel the country has. Ardern's government has also implemented three new green farming policies. (two of which were written and supported by the conservative party). The bureaucratic state is crushing, but we have been wealthy enough to avoid consequences for most people tho' poverty, suicide and violence is very high. We used to be the third richest country in the world, partially given an 'insulated economy' and full employment that lasted thirty years - somewhat similar to what Russia has been forced into.

I would like to think wokeness would dissolve in New Zealand quickly, but the 'resistance' has become enamoured with the sovereign citizen movement, circular thinking, a severe lack of critical thinking or basic self preservation has been dumbfounding to watch. It does not give me much hope that there is much of a sensible, practical society remaining.

Thoughtful article, thank you Mr Smith

Very thought provoking. Thank you. The big picture includes the financial system, I assume? Wokeness is being thrust upon us for a reason, I presume. If it is by the same people who control the central and commercial banks, it may simply be a tool to enact change. Here in Britain, it has reached ridiculous levels, as has illegal immigration across the Channel in small boats. Hardly anybody supports it but it is happening anyway. It must be deliberate as it could be stopped, so is it all part of the plan to what, break down our society and "Build back Better"?
