The bureaucratic state is crushing, but we have been wealthy enough to avoid consequences for most people tho' poverty, suicide and violence is very high. We used to be the third richest country in the world, partially given an 'insulated economy' and full employment that lasted thirty years - somewhat similar to what Russia has been forced into.
I would like to think wokeness would dissolve in New Zealand quickly, but the 'resistance' has become enamoured with the sovereign citizen movement, circular thinking, a severe lack of critical thinking or basic self preservation has been dumbfounding to watch. It does not give me much hope that there is much of a sensible, practical society remaining.
That is the thing about revolutionaries, be they radical anarchists or elite progressive globalists, they think the people eating doesn't matter to the success of their revolution, they think their revolution is inevitable the the people will simply bend/embrace it. But a hungry people have a tendency to eat their most immediate, perceived source of deprivation, and the revolution fails. And I suspect wokesters could be counted on to say complaining about not having enough to eat is white privilege.

If it is by the same people who control the central and commercial banks, it may simply be a tool to enact change. Here in Britain, it has reached ridiculous levels, as has illegal immigration across the Channel in small boats. Hardly anybody supports it but it is happening anyway. It must be deliberate as it could be stopped, so is it all part of the plan to what, break down our society and "Build back Better"?
