I had just finished watching the 2 hour video by Forrest Maready about facial asymmetry and the connection with vaccines (very interesting by the way, I’ll give you the link below) - then a post from Toby Rogers commenting on Maready’s observations about the current state of things…
In a very short response to Toby, or rather an additional observation, I’d like to make is in regards to the nature of the religious zeal for vaccines (I agree, by the way, with everything Toby touches on).
I believe the nature of this vaccine/safety religion and the physical salvation it preaches is altogether consistent with the nature of the right hemisphere of the brain. (Yes, I’m going to yet again frame what’s going on in terms of the divided brain). It is physical/mechanical salvation via a string of myopic views of health somehow reassembled into a bureaucratic sledgehammer we now know as the medical totalitarian state. There is nothing transcendent about this religion, unless you consider transhumanism and the dream of some sort of immortality, transcendent1.
I won’t re-hash what I’ve already written about the nature of the left hemisphere and how this can inform us as to how we might attend to, perceive, and thus be in the world. But I will say that the god of the left hemisphere, and all its religious trappings (much of it fanatical and downright dangerous), is no match for the God of reality. And so, I suppose, will not satisfy the human bent to worship2 (just as materialism falls dismally short) and must ultimately fail.
It will fail because we do live with both hemispheres of our brain and the right hemisphere (that maybe usurped for a moment, but must eventually be the master once again) has an appreciation, and thirst, for the intangible and transcendent reality of those dimensions beyond us where God and truth reside.
If it is indeed “the technocrats Golden Calf” that the people worship, engaged in holy war against viral demons and their unholy foot soldiers (the unvaxxed), then I am certain there are spiritual forces backing the whole charade. Yes it’s one part of human nature, but as they say - we are not alone!
I agree with Toby’s 3 ways to respond - let’s do them all together. And within those responses let us start to see again the spiritual forces that are against us.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
If anything comes out of this catastrophe, let it be a spiritual awakening!
Which I don’t - it seems to me to be more akin to a slow train wreck that will eventually kill all the passengers aboard.
Or address the “the infinite abyss” as Toby points out.
My apologies to those who got the email of this post and read "the god of the right hemisphere" - I got my left and right muddled when writing! My intention was to say we need to seek the god of the right hemisphere as the god of the left is rather wanting. Actually, to be completely accurate it's the god of the whole brain, where the right hemisphere is master, that we want to be focused on.
Currently reading McGilchrist's "The Matter with Things." Interesting that in most of those crooked faces, it's the left side of the face that isn't expressive. The left side is usually MORE expressive than the right side, since it's controlled by the right hemisphere. Haven't finished watching the video, but it looks like we're seeing a lot of right-hemisphere dysfunction. And if it doesn't originate in the brain, then still the brain lacks the feedback from the physical expression of that emotionality, OSIT.
