Oh yeah - I did see that one - I'll put it up.

I was just about to paste that Hamburg Syndrome from Celia Farber and saw you updated this post. Fascinating movie. Have to wonder if we're living in a simulation to explain all that perfect priming, predictive programming of the past and present. There are no coincidences or conspiracies anymore. Tank has loaded us with the decrypting software. "I know Kung Fu".

The more I look the more I see "predictive programming" - is it all high-level social engineering? Or is it writers and artists just expressing human nature and what is "predictable"? Hard to tell. I know of some robotics engineers who have a number of stories where they were inspired by technology they saw in movies and got their heads together and said "We can do this!" and promptly set about doing it. A number of years later they come up with viable technology that becomes commercial (autonomous LiDAR mapping is one of them, inspired by the movie Prometheus). Now if you put the current technology alongside the film from 10-15 years ago, you'd think there was some predictive programming going on, but actually it was inspiration at play more than prediction (although the filmmakers I guess 'predicted' that technology could/would go this way, but couldn't be certain). Could the Hamburg Syndrome be construed out of what the filmmakers knew was human nature, and this could also have been inspiration for the future? This may be a more plausible (and more boring) explanation than filmmakers consciously crafting a priming psych op for some future global event some 40+ years in the future.

But then there's The Simpsons, and all my level headed explaining away predictive programming theories get's blown out of the water! Yes, we must be in a simulation.

Love the Matrix reference... Tank has also loaded us up with an ancient piece of software called "I know reason" - and we intend to use it!

I have no idea about the Hamburg thing but I'm inclined to believe much more than we know is high-level social engineering that just morphed after the cold war. Big state systems require targets and there's nothing bigger than the federal monstrosity of the US machine. The people's minds have always been their prime targets in our post propaganda world. Yuri B. and all that. The CIA was deep in all art and culture from the 1950s onward, funding every writer, filmmaker, studios, even poets. Certain artists and intellectuals were chosen to be promoted over others. All their 'non profits' were CIA funded "cultural congress". It started as anti-communist but eventually became a whole different beast. It's probably been both engineering and creativity bouncing off the same walls over time, some nudged, others just strokes of coincidental originality rooted in human nature as you say, others beg the question 'chicken or the egg?', but again there's a lot we don't know and may never know that was influenced behind the scenes. She wrote a good book on this back when people still did deep investigative dives into important topics like this. https://youtu.be/FYLoyyR1qtI
