Satire only just staying ahead of the woke curve

Satire is very difficult today, as I’ve said many times before, because real life seems so ridiculous itself there’s often not much room left to amplify the situation to create satire. Here, the Babylon Bee does a good job of just staying ahead of the woke curve. Even if you are not a Christian you are sure to get a good laugh out of this one.

I say the Babylon Bee is ‘just’ staying ahead of the woke curve because there’s a lot in here that’s playing out in churches today… and they are not trying to be satirical.

If you do a quick YouTube search you will be overwhelmed by the variety and brazenness of the pro-LGBTQ+ ‘church’ rhetoric, and a good dose of actual Christians calling it all for the heresy it is.

Here’s the happy bunch at Silver Spire United Church and their Pentecost service for 2022 - it looks like it’s been taken down from their YouTube, wonder why? But I found a cache of videos on the YouTube channel “Christcuck Pastors”:

We all know that this global struggle for power and control is fundamentally spiritual and goes hand-in-hand with the sociopolitical war for truth and freedom. The more you look into this, the more you see the church leaning in a woke direction. Most don’t host freak shows like the above videos (thank God), but they are increasingly coming under the spell of the woke propaganda. For some congregations they have dived headlong into this crap, but for many others they are dipping their toe in the toxic stream.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

I think this infiltration of the church is designed to corrupt the true Gospel and the congregation to prepare for a one-world religious consensus¹, and it also makes the church look like such a freak show that no self-respecting person will want to be associated with it. Either that, or it will hijack the church to worship the likes of those ancient principalities known as Astarte/Ashtart and Asherah/Anath - demon gods of sex and war. Asherah oversaw a sex/death/war cult in the ancient world, repleat with pride parades that mirror what’s going on today. So I wouldn’t put it past this demonic principality to be hell-bent of capturing the church.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20)

Jesus loves everyone, and died for everyone’s salvation, and calls everyone to repentance - to chose life, not death. But God does not call us to live however we like, embracing whatever vices we like, or to worship whatever we like. The love of God isn’t encouraging sin and self-destructive behavior - that’s neglect at best and abuse in any sensible assessment of the situation.

What these woke churches don’t understand is that they are called to love the sinner but not the sin. Inexplicably they love the sinner and the sin - unable to separate the two.

Now what looks like a joke at the outset (like the “sparkle creed” in the above video, or the freak show above that) is taken very seriously by the adherents of such wokeness. But it’s not only the woke West having a go at the faith, but the Chinese Communist Party want a Jesus with Chinese characteristics, and are rewriting the bible to such ends (apparently they are applying the same treatment to the Quran). Actually the CCP have been at this for years - the CCP ‘Administration for Religious Affairs’ make sure party members are firm Marxist atheists and ‘the people’ don’t have a religion that elevates anything above the Party.

Also from China, there’s cult movements like “The Church of Almighty God”, claiming Jesus has come back as a Chinese woman and followers beat people to death, seemingly to punish demons and those under God’s curse. Not exactly the Jesus I know! It looks like a false flag sort of situation to condemn all forms of Christianity in China.

Once you start digging, there’s no end to the crazy in the name of God. Vice probably have the most viewership on their reporting of these cults. Here’s a fun selection:

Anyway, there’s thousands of these weirdo, and often dangerous, cults. No wonder people get a little nervous if you ask them to come to ‘church’ - what the heck are they going to encounter!? And there’s the problem. These distortions of the truth repel people from the true Gospel and the worship of the true God. The CCP (their Central Committee and the Ministry of Public Safety), not only have a watch-list of the truly crazy and dangerous ‘Christian sects/movements’ but throw in the true (underground) church as just another faction of the crazy and dangerous. The West is moving in that direction as well. To admit you were a Christian in the West was OK, even expected, now you’re likely to be quickly categorized as dangerous, anti-social, a cult member or just a freak.

The success of the Western world (human rights, healthcare, social welfare, education, even science itself) rests on the moral foundations of Christianity. If anyone tells you that the coming post-Christian age is going to hang onto those successes, even advance them, is lying to you. Once the moral foundation is thrown away, there is nothing to stop that ‘boot stamping on a human face’ George Orwell warned us about…

1. I doubt there will be a one-world religion as such, but rather a fellowship of corrupted religions that all bow to the same ‘god’ of this age.
